Devocamper, from his own thread about this, is set on the "paper" capacities and believes that the diesel live axle weight over the front axle takes away from payload.
they say there's a butt for every seat and his preference is a 2wd gasser dually to "allow" more overall payload into the equation.
Negating the fact that the truck he's choosing will have the same rear suspension as a 4x4 and/or diesel and will handle the load the same, save for the slight differences between 2 and 4wd ride height.
Also negating the fact that the 07 he has, has the same rear axle as the new gasser ram.
