- Charlie_D_ExplorerI don't believe they are more affordable as much as I believe that emotions play a major factor in decision making. Who doesn't want to show the neighbors, friends and relatives a new overpriced truck? After a few weeks and they realized they have financed a new vehicle for 6/ 6 1/2 maybe 7 years at the price of a house from 1993. See lots of late model trucks on dealers lots. Lots are full of 1/2 and 3 year old trucks loaded with every luxury. Does some of them mean that they have awakened and realized they can't afford them.
Saw a local "For Sale" site the other day. Young lady had a 2012 Chrysler 200 for sale. Said she was pregnant and needed a larger car. Said she owed about $24,000 and hoping to get a couple of thousand equity. A person says he was in the car business and to trade it in and take her loss and roll it into the price of another car. He said salesman convince people to pay too much, pay too long and end up in debt. My FIL had a Mercury Grand Marquis that was bought used and financed it as long as he could. IIRC correctly he still owed several years on it. Couldn't drive anymore and the Blue Book showed he was $6800 up side down. He parked it and eventually it was towed from his house. Note was sold several times. He went into a nursing home and we received letters and phone calls demanding payment and then letters of reductions in amount owed if paid now. They finally gave up after several years after I told them several times he was deceased. - 4x4ordExplorer IIIIt kind of depends how you look at it. In 1993 a loaded diesel crew cab 1 ton listed at about $32000. Now a middle of the road gasoline 1/2 ton would be a nicer, more powerful and more capable truck. I believe a 1/2 ton now is much more affordable to a young family than what a loaded diesel was 25 years ago.
- 1jeepExplorer III totally agree and with pricing of vehicles heading to $100k I cant believe there is no profit for them to build more here. Recently my wife went to replace her caddy and looked at an escalade(she was dreaming!) Anyway, they had one on sale for $94k! with a sticker of 97k! She ended up with at an infiniti dealer and they had a QX80 in the showroom I believe is a Nissan armada dressed up, it was on sale for $81k.
All this technology is driving the pricing of cars way up, you cant even buy a Hyundai that isn't loaded with tech. and I bet most of it is made dirt cheap in countries like china! - SoCalDesertRid1ExplorerThe fact is that all the manufacturers are building way too much stuff out of the country.
- 1jeepExplorer IIand then he could do one in china showing where the rest of the parts from all 3 are built!

Can you possibly help him get his teeth fixed???

I think he should do a video in Mexico showing the PowerStroke engine being built there. Then maybe he could afford to have those teeth fixed! - Bird_FreakExplorer II

I don't think you could do that. Were yall separated at birth and one went with a pro Ford family and you to a pro Ram family by any chance?spud1957 wrote:
Think the title of this thread is self explanatory. Why don't you Ram boys take your Ram love fest to another thread.
Little touchy because GM out sold Blue Oval trucks last month?
We will go away if Troy stays out of RAM threads. How is that for deal????
Chris
You always jump in a Ford post and Troy jumps Rams. Makes you wonder don't it guys?:B - larry_barnhartExplorer
