My company has had 10 PSD that all failed ( actually only 3 of 3), hows that Troy? Must be true just like your B* stories :W Like I've said many times, maybe throw in a photo some day or some kind of proof, otherwise its just a campfire story after a few Lone Star's.
And I'll bet the maintenance (oil changes particularly) were ignored, and those trucks were treated like rented donkeys. It's funny how the people most vocal about the 6.0 are usually those who have never OWNED one. As for photographic proof of my truck, it's in my signature file.
Never owned one and never will. If the truck had a more reliable drive train I would currently be driving one,Instead I have a Chevy.
100% of the 6.0's were not bad, however many were. There is no need to rehash the 6.0 saga at this point.
Years later we have identified the 6.0 problems and come up with solutions that are too little too late. The damage has been done to Ford and the 6.0 reputation.
Even now we discuss bullet proofing the truck. Why wasn't bullet proof from the factory like its competitors?
The idea of getting a scan gauge and monitor the coolant delta maybe worthwhile info for someone with a 6.0, however why should I have to go through that? There are other capable trucks that don't require monitoring for potential catastrophic failures.
The whole idea that I have to do anything other than basic maintenance speaks to the ongoing issues of the 6.0.
I like everything about the Ford 6.0 truck better than my current Chevy except the engine. In the end it all boils down to the drivetrain and its reliability.
Honestly why would anyone want to get involved in the 6.0 mess at any price at this point?
There are other options that don't require bullet proofing or coolant monitoring.
