Now I got a 99 V10 dodge ram 2500, I have put 3 transmissions in it in 10 years. Its a work truck obviously... But I wanna throw an Allison transmission in it. Is it possible? please let me know

actually you can, it a Ford F-650, at least the older ones.
  • If you can spring for one of the newer 6.7 CTD it has a great 6 speed auto behind it that works every bit as well as the Ally.
  • This is what I'm struggling with.... after my research.I want the Cummins diesel, with the Allison tray, but no one makes that.........

And by coincidence, the last to pieces of fire apparatus that I designed, BOTH had Cummins and Allison paired together.... too bad none of the P/U truck builders build that combination!

I don't think there's any kit available to do it but of course with enough money anything is possible.
It would cost far more than the truck is worth though. Besides, with a good rebuild your trans is every bit as strong as the Ally.

    Ditto
I'd replace with a more robust Dodge tranny. They were known to be weak in stock form in those years. We also had a 2001 46RE which failed at 75K miles.
