- GrooverExplorer IIThe only thing that I really remember on my 1972 Chrysler was breakerless ignition replacing the points which was really an improvement. The F250 mentioned above may have been exempt from regulations longer than cars so answers could vary. Personally, I have no desire to every have points again.
- Hank85713Explorerghostrider421 You are probably right. My 72 ford ranchero had points and condensor and I remember some others to the mid 70s as having them. I think gm was the 1st to claim it had electronic ignitions. do a google search. I just remembered by BIL let me use his f250 back in 82 or so and it was still points equipped. I remember installing plugs and points for a trip where we borrowed it. My 89 was pointless.

I was thinking mid 70's, but there are plenty here older than that. - LynnmorExplorer IIMy 1965 Oldsmobile 442 had points, my brothers 1967 had electronic ignition. So to answer your question, look for vehicles at least 50 years old.
