F150 EcoBoost question

What is the payload of the truck (on the door sticker), minus the 4 wheeler and tongue weight, and hitch weight? I'm looking at new F 150s now. Some of the payloads are disappointing, like 1100 lbs.
I have an 06 supercab that has a payload of 1750 per sticker.
You may run out of payload a lot sooner than you expect.

Ill have to look. Not sure if this has any effect but I forgot to mention that my truck is a Super Crew Lariat.

SuperCrew Lariats generally have low payload, unless you have Max Tow. I suspect trailer tongue weight alone is close to maxing out your truck.

Shorter wheelbase truck and a long TT......plus a tongue weight of, I'm guessing 900lbs? and a 700 lb four wheeler? That is allot of weight !

You post you have the Max tow package (good thing), as the others have wrote, check your door for payload numbers. I have to believe you will very close if not over on the payload.

The max tow is not going to help with the quad, you need the max payload package which is not the same. I suspect you won't have enough payload for what you want to do.

Check your door sticker for payload rating. If the weight of the quad, people, gear and tt tongue weight fit within the payload # then you should be ok. You could also load the truck with people, gear and the quad and go to a scale. Subtract scale weight from GVWR and what you have left is available for the hitch and trailer tongue weight.

Yes, but your hitch weight from the factory is very misleading. It doesn't include the weight of the battery, propane tanks, any other dealer installed items, water in tanks if you carry it, dishes, clothing, bedding items, etc.

You want to weigh your rig to know a more accurate hitch weight, you would be surprised how those hundreds of extra pounds add up so quickly!

Any easy way to estimate is figure out what percent of your total trailer weight is on the hitch from the factory. Usually between 12-15%. Then figure out your total GVWR on your trailer and multiply it by the same percentage as your factory hitch weight. That will give you a more reliable number until you can actually weigh it.

Just checked the door panel. Max payload for my truck is 1606 lbs.

quad weighs 688
tongue weight is 625

after adding battery and two 30lb LP bottles to the trailer and wife, two kids and other odds and ends this puts me on the edge and Im not particularly comfortable with that especially on the mountain roads of Alaska where I live.

I guess that leaves me with two options

1. Leave the quad in the garage
2. Buy a toy hauler

I am willing to bet you exceed the weight limits of the rear axle. We have a max tow with a payload of 1835. Our camper tongue weight is around 800 lbs. We recently did a BBQ competition where we threw a 300 lb smoker and another 400 lbs of supplies in the bed. We were 30 lbs over the axle limit of 4050 lbs. I think all Ecoboost axles are rated the same.
