my current TT is very stuffy at night, and im looking to have some kind of fan installed in the existing vent. Im in upstate NY so I hate to waste the AC all night long as it can get cool up here, but I noticed in my camper that unless I use the AC all night it gets stuffy even with windows open on cool nights. I know these two models are expensive, but I might as well bite the bullet now and get one that comes with a remote so I don't have to climb over everyone when I want to turn off the fan or turn it on at night.. does anyone have any experience with either of these two top-end models? I know the maxxfan is better in the rain, but the fantastic also has a rain sensor also that will close it... I think the prices are around the same on either model.... im gonna have my dealer install at $150.00 as im not a handy person...

Can't speak to Maxfan, but We have 2 Fantastic Fans. They work very well. I have read (on this forum) that they have great customer service if you ever need it. Good luck with your choice.

I found fantastic fans to be too loud and real annoying when you are sitting inside the RV and do not put out a lot of air.The MaxAir Turbo Fan mounted OUTSIDE is IMHO the only way to go!I installed 2 of them in my RV. Put one on in and the other on exhaust and stand back!And because they are on the roof outside the RV you do not even hear them running. Ahhh.*Be wary of the rain sensor lids. They close at the slightest hint of moisture. On my previous RV we came back to one hot RV on a sweltering day to find out both lids had closed shutting off the fans because of condensation from a neighboring campers RV air conditioner blowing across our rain sensor lids. :(

I put a Maxxair 4500K in my old TT. I loved it, and the rain sensor came in handy twice when it started raining while we were out. I bought one to replace the fan in the bathroom of my new 5th wheel because I can't reach the switch without a step stool, and the Maxxair has a remote. I want to pull the inside trim off of the vent in the front bedroom to see if I can snag the wire going to the overhead light. If there are no trusses in the way, I'm going to get another for there.

Me neither but it came with the one that had the remote which was a "must have" per the DW. My vent cover means I don't rely on the rain sensor.

I've had Fantastic fans on my last two 5vers and love them. They work wonders when no services. The remotes are great and the rain sensor works very well, the slightest rain drop and it closes. With their variable fan speeds on auto they are very quiet. I have learned NEVER to have them suck air in if there are bugs, it plasters them everywhere.:S

lets see with a maxxaire type I can run it in the rain to get circulation but with a fantastic fan my magic rain sensor shuts it down and I get no circulation.

We have the Fantastic Fan with a FF cover. We don't mind the noise it makes; sorta like white noise and covers campground sounds at night and in the morning. Another factor in the FF vs. MaxxAir is country of origin. We always try to buy US first.
