As I have said before, "If Fiat is the answer, it must be a darn stupid question". Their best bet is to merge with Renault, it would kind of keep all the junk in one pile.
That might work out. Renault is partnered with Nissan so maybe RAM can get that 5.0L back lol. - travelnutzExplorer IISome of you posters (mainly one brand owners) simply wouldn't listen or admit to the established facts given and proven for so many years. FCA is going into very deep financial times going forward as noted in nearly all reports and articles/publications again and not likely to survive unless another sucker pours billions into actually acquiring them masked first as only a merger. Check Fiat and Chrysler's pasts and it's self-explanatory.
FCA's long term debt is very staggering and their overall sales are tanking! The family and Sergio know what the handwriting on the wall says and obviously want to get out before the doom and gloom takes full inevitable effect.
I personally, really do feel sorry for the buyers of their vehicles as their resale values will drop like a rock just as they have so many times in the past and most owners can't afford the losses at all. Their blasting in the advertisment media etc with their misleading propaganda has caught up with them again like it always does and they sucked many into their web. Strange how the chickens always come home to roost, NOT!
Will any other corp/financial interest be dumb enough to attempt ruination of their own futures with thinking they can beat the proven odds stacked against an aquisition of FCA given the past history of constant failures? Most boards (BOD) would be very doubtful or nix it as the facts speak for themselves! What could they possibly gain anyway? A continous shell game with huge losses and proven so over and over!
Some on this forum will try to falsely spin the facts into something good as usual, but the majority are so much smarter and see thru it. History repeats! - goducks10ExplorerDodge makes goofy cars except for the Jeep and Challenger/Cuda. Kill the rest and just make trucks and Jeeps.

- DadoffourgirlsExplorerGM still remembers the last deal with Sergio. It cost them $2B.
FCA stated margin is so low because the have "bought" year over year sales gains for 60 straight months. If they focused on margin, the streak would have ended.
Sergio needs to understand that you do not make revenue on volume selling below cost plus profit margin. - shepstoneExplorer"Fiat Chrysler Automobiles chief executive Sergio Marchionne has reportedly become more aggressive in searching for a buyout or merger partner."
Looks like they are looking for a buyout or merger. - Fast_MoparExplorer

To be clear, FCA wants to merge with someone else. FCA does not want to "unload" Chrysler. This was all over Automotive News a few days ago, but actually this has been Sergio's plan for a long time. Sergio just wants to make a name for himself. He is quite the arrogant person. Bad news any way you want to look at it. - shepstoneExplorerIf nobody wants it are we going to have to be bail em out once again??? this company is like the welfare cousin of the auto industry.. Why do we have to keep of subsidizing their products for the sake of the few who want them?
- gmcsmokeExplorerI can't see any car company buying Chrysler, they gain nothing.
- BedlamModeratorI can see VW making an offer for FCA. Although they are small in North America, they are large globally. There is some bad blood between VW and Fiat, so egos may stop this from forming. One of the scuffs was back in 2010 or 2011 when VW was partnered with Suzuki - Suzuki sourced Fiat diesels instead of VW.
