- IdaDExplorerIs that from Geno's?
- otrfunExplorer IIPurchased this for $20. I especially like the protection the o-ring provides. Although the o-ring fits snugly on my truck, I've heard some folks have had issues with a loose fitting o-ring.
- Grit_dogNavigator IIFish, you crack me up. I swear your poor beloved mama must have been hit by a Dodge Ram or something to foster your intense distaste for the brand.
But fwiw, I think capless fuel fillers are a bad idea on trucks. Seen firsthand the problems with them.
Oh and my last 3 FORD pickups had capless fuel fillers too.......... - DanNJaniceExplorerI really hate the EPA! Well maybe not hate. I lived in Cali in the early 70's. I cannot image how bad the air pollution would have become if not for pollution controls. However, what the EPA/Gov has done to the reliability of diesel engines is criminal.
- IdaDExplorerI still have the little plastic plug that the truck came with. Year and a half and 20,000 miles and it still works great. When it wears out I'll buy a cap that fits - I do prefer having one on there. Not that any of this is germane to the thread.

And that F150 doesn't have a DEF fill port right next door to the diesel fill port either just waiting for a spill to occur. I would most definitely have the MOPAR diesel protective cap.
An accidental spill? I've got a Ram CTD, and yes, the DEF port is next to the diesel fill port, but OMG, I can't imagine an accidental spill that would create an issue. Good grief..... just when you heard it all.
But, considering the source, Im not surprised.
Mike - ShinerBockExplorerI am not ignorant and know enough about the capless system to give me piece of mind. I actually like it. Both in my F150 and in my Ram.

Troy were is the DEF filler located on the HD Fords? Same spot as my truck right? I mean the new F-150 3.0 diesel is not being sold yet so no a F-150 wouldn't have a DEF filler now would it? :p

I understand but my truck has a standard fuel cap that provides a piece of mind
I looked and Ford does put a cap on their diesel trucks. Wonder if that will change with the next model upgrade? The 150's are capless right? Perrysburg Dodgeboy wrote:

In order to even put fuel in your tank from a gas/fuel can, a special funnel that comes with the truck is required so the it can open this second flap since most gas/fue can spouts are not long enough.
.
I remember having a special funnel many years ago but it was designed to be able to put leaded gas into the tiny unleaded gas opening. :)
