First Tow with 2016 F250 6.2

I'll weigh in here with my first review of the truck and trailer in my sig. To put my comments in context, I recently had the 250 built after selling my 2011 F150 EB maxtow tuned by 5 Star. That was a beast.

Anyway, the 6.2...I am running the 5 Star 87 daily/tow. This past weekend we hitched up the trailer and made a run from DC to Williamsburg and back on I-95. Traffic is typically stop and go for a good many miles outside of DC. This meant many standing starts at the bottom of a decent grade. The 6.2 with 3.73s worked great. Pulled strong with shifts around 3700 rpm under load using tow/haul. Had no trouble accelerating right along with the cars. Cruised at 64 mph with 6th locked out - 2200 rpm. A real sweet spot. Occasionally had a downshift to 4th on a long grade, but the upshift came back around the 3k rpm mark.

There is no doubt the 6.2 is a capable motor, made even more so by 5 Star. I think I could tow around 10k-10.5k comfortably. After that I think a diesel would be better.

Now if Ford would just drop the EB 3.5 in an F250...
