He also had dual exhaust installed!
The fuel pump issue has already been mentioned, so no need to re-hash that here. However, the pump only gets lubrication from the fuel itself so many owners, including me, added a lubricity additive to each and every tank of fuel. Ford recommends their PM-22A additive.
I previously owned a 2011 Ford F-350 King Ranch dually with the 6.7L diesel. Had really good service from that truck.
The dual exhaust mentioned concerns me though.
Does it indeed have dual exhausts, or just that you see two exhaust pipes coming out the passenger rear side of the vehicle?????
Mine had the two pipes, joined together at the passenger rear. It was factory set up, dual exhaust NOT added to mine.
I just see no reason or advantage on this if the previous owner did add a dual exhaust.
You may wish to get clarification on this part.
As far as vibration, perhaps you are referring to the so called "death wobble".
I had some vibration issues with mine, but found that under inflated front tires were the main culprit there.
I was running them at the 55 PSI that was in them the day I bought it. Found tires to be wearing unevenly and cupping. Plus the occasional vibration on certain types of road pavement.
After reading here, I upped the front tires to 75 PSI and maintained it there. Wear issues and vibration stopped. Guess this was the right thing to do considering how heavy that diesel engine is anyway.
