According to my brother his does very well towing that much weight. And it should. The 2.7 Ecoboost is rated at 325hp and 400lb-ft of torque and a 10 speed. My 1991 F250 with a 460 engine was rated to pull 12,500lbs with 230hp and 390lb-ft of torque and a 4 speed. In its day it was a towing monster with the highest tow rating of any pickup that year from what I could find.
My 88 TBI and 89 4bbl 454s were 235/385 power specs. They had a 16K gcwr iirc with 4.10 gears, and 19000 with 4.56. Actual tow rating was gcw less tare, so depending upon the cab options etc, that obviously makes the tow rating vary some. Only issue with the th400, was the really tall first gear.
