The megacab short bed is exactly the same length bed as on a crew cab short bed. All they do is use the crew cab long bed frame, put the short bed on it, and fill the rest with cab.
Nope! There is 10.5" of wheel base difference between the CC LB and the MC.
Talonhead stated CC LB which I took as Crew Cab Long Bed and compared it to the Mega Cab's wheel base.
Sounds like everyone has the info they need... - ib516Explorer III said same BED LENGTH, not same frame length. I had a megacab as my last truck...
The BED is the same CCSB or Megacab. The FRAME is the same length CCLB or megacab. talonhead wrote:

ib516 said crew cab short bed not CC LB- rxrExplorerBoth the Crew Cab Long Bed and the Mega Cab Short bed use the same chassis and 160.5" wheelbase
From "Car and Driver"
"Dodge engineers started out with the company's 160.5-inch-wheelbase heavy-duty chassis from the Quad Cab long-box pickup. Then they subbed in the six-foot, four-inch bed instead of the eight-footer, leaving 20 inches with which to stretch the cab." - talonheadExplorer

- Golden_HVACExplorerWith a travel trailer, it will not change the towing ability at all. The wheelbase of the Megacab is long enough that it will handle properly.
With a fifth wheel, you might have the trailer join you in the cab if you don't have the right type of hitch. One with a extended pin box, or by getting a sliding hitch, you will have the hitch slide back as you make a sharp turn.
