Ford sold twice as many trucks as GM.
Just a test to see if anyone notices a truck comment in this post. :B - ShinerBockExplorer

I have plenty of compassion. People make choices in their lives.
I will be buying my Daughter that uses a food bank a washer and dryer. She walks to town pulling a cart or takes a taxi to do laundry, this is EXPENSIVE. She has a husband that makes $25 in a lumber mill plus bennies but they are ALWAYS broke. No car and rent is $400. They walk everywhere.
She has told my wife more than once to butt out as "it's my business if I am poor". Her and her husband have tattoos top to bottom and smoke the reefer constantly.
I will NOT give them any money as it will change NOTHING. There are many people in this world like them. This is their life!
By giving them the WD this way they can't PIZZ the money away. In fact I will tell them they need to pay me $30 per month until it's paid off. Do ya think they will do so even tho it's less money than what they actually spend on laundry? I bet not!
I agree with most of this accept not everyone has a proper father(or mother) figure to teach them how to make the right choices and by the time they learn what the right choices are it may be too late for them to get out of it. This is why I hated how welfare programs from the 60's to today that incentivizes fatherless homes. It is a major reason why fatherless homes skyrocketed from 8% in the 1960's to 25% today. These statistics are even worse in minority communities.
I am more than willing to give to those in need, but we need to be cognizant of how we give and who we give to so it does not create a reliance with no want or drive of self betterment and/or be utilized by those who wish to game the system. I feel that a welfare program's success is based on how many people it is able to lift out of poverty, not how many people that it is able to keep in poverty. - Cummins12V98Explorer III"Even with a roommate and social help it's going to be tough to save. I don't recall a big spike in Ford trucks sales for quite some time. I recall them having a moderate and consistent sales increase with the exception of this first quarter, strikes and supply chain problems.
Then you need to look again. There are multiple months throughout the years that they sold way more than the monthly average. Generally they are the last months in the quarter, the month after taxes are due, and the end of the year which are big buying times for fleets.
For example, in 2019 the monthly average for Ford was 74,710 trucks. In May(the month after taxes are due) they sold 87,670. That is almost 13k more than the monthly average. If that ain't a spike then I don't know what is. If you look at the link below, you will see many more spikes over the years that are well above the monthly average for that year.
Ford F series – US Sales Figures
Your probably right but looking at the numbers from a 10k mile view (annual) they're pretty obvious what's going on.- mich800Explorer

Your bias is showing. GM was not doing 12k cash and 0% for 84. Additionally, you had to have near perfect credit to score the 84.
As for the other discussions regarding sales being higher in May for Ford F-series, it is proven that vehicles sales are seasonal based on factors. The auto companies all know and understand, and then we get politics and world impacts that disrupt.
Correct. All three have a variation of that financing offer now. And none of them offered it before the economy shutdown. - ShinerBockExplorer

I have seen both sides of this. Back when I helped build houses for Habitat for Humanity on the weekends, you would have those that truly needed these homes and I was more than happy to help them. You get to know most of the owners of the houses because they are helping you build their house. However, there were many that did not need these help and purposely abused the system. Sadly, there were more that abused it than not.
Most of the houses we were doing at the time were in a small subdivision allocated for section 8 housing so we were building one house then building another next to it once it was done. I don't know many times I would see cars and trucks that were newer and nicer than mine parked in the driveway of the houses that we finished on weekends. You would also see cable and dish crews going in there constantly hooking up cable along with Swan trucks. Then you would see the people that you helped get out of their vehicles with new tattoos that I know cost hundreds of dollars(I have a few myself). They would not even look at you or acknowledge you as they walked into their homes yet they were more than willing to act like they were in need when we were building their homes.
Another way they would game the system is that they would not marry their children's father and would say that he is gone to claim the benefits of being a single mother, but he was actually not gone. He was living there with them and would leave anytime a social worker would come. The father would be forced to pay child support, but it did not matter since he was living with the mother so it just went back to him. This was so common that some of us on the H for H crew had bets on whether or not the "single mother" we were building the house for was in fact a single mother. Like clock work, a week or two after completing the house we would be talking to the "single mother" of the previous house we did and lo and behold the father would come back and live with them because he has changed yet they never end up marrying because that would reduce their benefits.
It was disheartening because I knew what it was like growing up poor and we could not afford any of those luxuries because it all went to our needs. Sadly, there were more people who played Habitat for Humanity a fool than those who really needed it which is why I consider those that do play the system thieves from stealing from those in need. - ShinerBockExplorer

That is what I am saying. When I worked for a Ford dealership many years ago, sales spikes were common based on multiple factors one of them being when fleets do their purchasing. The dealer I worked for only sold trucks so fleets were a major part of their customer base. I now work for a 120+ dealer group that also owns nine Ford dealerships across the US that also only sell trucks so fleets make up almost all of their business. Their sales are seasonal as well and spike in the months that fleets mainly do their purchasing. colliehauler wrote:

That’s simply BS!!! Whatever you make you should be living within your means and have enough saved to survive at YOUR income level.
How does one survive on a federal minimum wage of $8 hr? They don't, they make do! Barely
I do agree with thought. Here in Seattle even with it's $15 min, you make half of what is needed to live!
Marty
Live within your means.
How does one live within their means at $8/hour?
Never heard of a food bank and having roommates??? Seriously who do you know that has a full-time job paying $8 per hour?
Those people you mention I guarantee you they have Tattoos, Vape, Smoke, Drink and enjoy the Reefer. ALL or some mentioned and none of those are cheap. BTW I have no issue with people doing those things but people always have money to do them.
Maybe you should find one of those people and give them YOUR check.

Back on topic, in the TFL video they mentioned the sales figures for the mid size trucks separately. The Ranger sure has taken a chunk of the GM twins sales, probably the Gladiator to a lesser degree as well.
I wish Ford and Ram would separate the full size sales like GM does. - DadoffourgirlsExplorer
