Does anyone have an answer to the question as to how good Goodyear Marathon 225/75R15 tires are to put on my 2006 Dutchman Colorado 26 FB Travel trailer. It's got Duro Radial DS 2100 load Range D ST 225/73R15 tires on it now. I bought the trailer in Sept. of 2010 so the tires have got to be in the 6 to 8 year level where people say tires should be replaced even with lots of tread left and tires have no crack's or blemish's on the side walls. I know I need to look at the DOT number also to know how old the tires are. Thank's for any help you all can be on this matter!

I have used Goodyear Marathons for many years with no problems. Others will trash them. Go figure. While you are looking at tire dates, look at your camper and see that it is a DutchmEn, not DutchmAn. Good luck with your tire choice.

I have has Marathons on both of my TT's, with great results. Between the two trailers I probably have towed about 16-17K miles, many of which are on rough dirt roads. I only ever had 2 flats on the old TT with LRC tires, both were rock punctures on nasty roads. I have towed for hours at 70 on hot days without issue as well. Im will be due for tires next year and will have a hard time not getting Marathons again, they just seem to work well for me.

I too have had good performance with the Marathons on my last RV. Good for you, replacing the tires due to AGE and not wear. Make sure the tires you get are "fresh".

When I purchased my TT it had them on they were about 4-5 years old ant the previous owner had replaced one due to a flat. I lost another 2 months later to a blowout. No cracks, in good shape. At that point I swapped to Maxxis and have not looked back. The one thing I noticed is the Maxxis in the same load range have a higher PSI rating.

There was a silent change in the ST tire formulation a while ago. Most of the manufactures now incorporated a nylon cap that improved reliability. I think that most any ST tire will make the normal life without issues. I had Ameritrac Power Towing make it four years with two cross country trips. Last week I talked to a double tower that had just returned from Alaska on Hercules tires. Nowadays I think that most early blowouts can be traced to a poor setup, whether the owner understands it or not.

Are you sure they where Marathon's? The Goodyear website doesn't show any Marathons rated at 35 psi, it's 50, 65, or 80.

Mine stated 35 psi I thought that was low for a trailer but is what I put in them.

I had 225/75R15 load range D Marathons on my trailer. Got my trailer Jun of 08 and just replaced the tires last week. Only had one flat, hit a stump and punctured thorugh the sidewall. Other than that, great tires.
