helper springs on truck?

Do you use an LDH? If so, is the trailer still setting level?

Get a set of supersprings. It will fix it up. About $600. I love them, I don't even need an equalizer, but i use it anyway for sway control.

The company was started by a couple of South Africans, they developed them for overland trucks there.

Yes, I do use a weight distribution hitch, always have. The thing is, the truck now squats in the rear with the camper hitched up whereas it used to not. My setup has not changed at all over the past 6 years of towing it over 20K miles.

Lift up the wipers and drive a new one underneath! Just kidding. You probably could replace the leaf springs with a less worn set or even new. Can't be that expensive.

IMO, leaf springs near 15 years old should be replaced. Older the steel, the higher risk of snapping. All my trailers older than 15 years get immediate Leaf Springs replaced. Very low maintenance cost.

If your truck is near this older age and its natural "sagging", I'd replace with new leaf springs as well. Any truck suspension shop will do this task. Since you'll be doing more loading / towing, I might even "up size" as well. re: Add medium length leaf - while getting its rear leaf package replaced. After new leaf spring packs, remember to get alignment as well. re: If rear goes up, then front goes down (which means alignment is also needed).

If Truck's rear continues to sag under load (and still within its weight loading limits), I'd install Timbren SES units next. These are hallow rubber blocks that replace factory bump (bottom out) stops. If wondering, I had Timbren SES (leaf spring version) on my previous Tow Vehicle, and have Timbren SES (coil spring version) on my new Tow Vehicle. Love them so much, my next Tow Vehicle replacement will have Timbren SES units as well.

Swapping rear springs is easy. Custom springs usually cost just a tad more than off the shelf aftermarket. I've found custom springs last longer and hold their arch longer. If considering custom, be sure to have weight of empty rear truck axle as well as fully loaded truck. They might ask front axle weight too?

I'm hard on Jeep leaf springs. Off the shelf springs last me 2-3 months. My first set of Alcans lasted about 8yrs. Bought another set of Alcans.

I put the Super Springs on my Durango and also now have them on the Ford F150. Levels things out and improves handling. Highly recommended.

That's what I did, works great. I haul a lot of firewood. I put Helwig helpers on a F-250 I hauled a fifth wheel and pickup camper with, they worked great also.

For $120.00 dollars Hellwig Helper springs work great,plus you can take them off and use on your next truck. Just a thought.
