Here is the new link:
1492 is a genius, in my opinion
1492 is a moderator, and he developed this app for us. Bless him! This is so easy. Just save that link in your bookmarks, drag a photo into the box, copy the code that pops up, and paste the code into your thread. Boom. Done.
Thank you for your explanation on how to use this RV.net photo link. I've tried, and tried, and tried to understand how to use the old link and it never made sense to me. I continued to use photobucket and re-sized the width for years. Finally your explanation on how to use the link made sense to me. To post multiple pictures in one post, I'm assuming you just reopen the link and drag additional pictures and copy in each additional new code? - AnEv942NomadI use photobucket, there are other reasons to have an account with a hosting service other than posting to RV.net. Ive used 1492's app or imgur direct on occasion trying to explain something without uploading a picture to PB. But I at least cant see using it (the app) exclusively.
As far as picture resizing I don't resize uploaded pictures to PB and most are not large in files size. Posting to RV.net (or most other forums) using the editor it's as simple as entering 640 in the width. Well I guess not that simple since many don't- one of my pet peeves also- - jimh406Explorer IIIApparently, they have nobody working on the site.
- hedgeExplorerI can't understand why they don't just take 30s and change the code to just add the width tag. I am a programmer/web developer and that is seriously all it would take.

I just use photobucket and the img link it gives you can be pasted directly into the comment box.
If anyone does this they will need to insure that the size of the picture complies with the picture posting rules on SIZE!
The posting link will resize for you....
Our poor moderators end up resizing many posted pictures on various forums!
Many times the poster will go off on the Moderators for RESIZING their pictures... SAD!
Keep in mind no Moderator is compensated....
Jim
the link is already to the smaller sized pic so no editing required.
I was not implying that your picture web provides large pictures I was asking folks to INSURE that their pictures comply with the RV.net rules...
Many of the sites I use you have to dictate the size.
This is what Photobucket says about size:
Direct link: This is the actual web location where your image is stored. Use this link for sites that ask you to insert an image from a web URL.
*** Note! If a forum or blog asks you to use a direct link to embed your photo, the photo may or may not display at full size, depending on the forum and its posting guidelines. Some forums resize images automatically! ***
