Both AAM 14 bolt axles GM uses are the 10.5" ring gear for 6K GAWR and 11.5" ring

This Nissan will have a 13" ring gear from AAM, an American firm, with larger
axle tubes but only 6 six lugs from the pic's. What is missing is the lug bolt
size. I've seen 5 lug nuts on large trucks, but those lug nuts are in the 25MM
dia range...plus we don't know if "lug-centric" or "hub-centric", so
if "hub-centric"...the lugs do not carry much of the weight
I don't go by marketing badging, but real metrics....like GVWR, GCWR, GAWR and
will wait till Nissan announces them
There are two "14 bolts" that GM has used over the years, but only one is currently used in the HD line of pickups. It is only found in 2500's with the 6.0. This axle is called a "Corporate" 14 bolt full-float, made by AAM.
The duramax and 3500 axle is not called a 14 bolt, it's the AAM 11.5" axle and goes by that name.
The other 14 bolt is the axle pictured on the Nissan website and is a 9.5" ring gear AAM semi-float axle, sometimes called the "Saginaw" 9.5".
There is also an AAM 10.5" full-float axle, but it is different that the "Corporate" 10.5" full float axle that has been used since the 70's by GM. The Ram 2500 with a Hemi is the main user of the AAM 10.5" axle.
The 14 bolt semi-float "Saginaw" has had RAWR of up to 6K lbs.
The 14 bolt full-float "Corporate" has been SRW and DRW with RAWR of up to 8,600lbs.
The AAM 10.5" full-float axle has a RAWR of up to 6,000. The axle itself has a higher rating around 9K lbs.
The AAM 11.5" full-float is used SRW/DRW and OEM axle ratings up to 9,350 lbs. The axle itself is rated for 10,912 lbs.
There isn't a single class III pickup using an axle with a 13" ring gear, the largest is the Ram 3500 with an 11.8" ring gear (HD variant of the AAM 11.5).
While there is a source, pickuptrucks.com, that states 13" ring gear it's not logical to be anything but a typo. Why would a truck with a 10k lb tow rating, and 555 ft/lbs need a 13" ring gear??? It's being advertised as more than a LD, but not quite a HD... not 13" ring gear territory.
It's wiki... but they have some info on all of the axles listed.

There are very few specs on the XD out there, but the tire size and rear axle ground clearance numbers that Nissan provided indicate the ring gear is smaller than 13".

Not a source I will hold my breath for... especially since the transmission in the photo is not a AS69RC.
