It's not about being at/above/below "book value."
It's about the sheer amount of money involved.
You said the camper is so new that they are still being sold as new on dealer lots. That means a big price tag.
Coming up with $2500 for a 1994 camper is a whole lot easier than coming up with $25,000 for a 2012 camper, for example.
Your market is very limited. Most of the people that would be interested in your camper would generally rather buy at an RV dealership where they can get financing using the camper as collateral. To buy from you, they would either have to have the cash on hand, or secure funds using something else as collateral.
