- Buzzcut1Nomad IItrip home sans airbags was uneventful. I just kept it at 60-62 the whole way back up 101 as I figured more places to gte help should something else let loose than on I5. Suspension without airbags worked fine aside from being a tad soft and a bit mor sway in the corners. We were definitely a few inches tail down which made the sterring less than desirable but still manageable. Tomorrow I will off load the camper and start the repair process for the body and airbags, such fun.
- Ski_Pro_3ExplorerYea... that'll all buff right out...
- Buzzcut1Nomad IIthere are black scuff markson the underside of the tc below the propane tanks but no damage. it appears that the torklift rear frame mount protected the dump valve compartment.

new tire is in place for the ride home. took a few days to get a matching tire .
Wow look how high up the tire damaged your bedside. I'm surprised it didn't get to your TC. Glad you make it out ok, wish I could say the same for your truck. - btggraphixExplorerWow..... Did you repair the airlines yourself? Did the tork-lift extensions survive unscathed? Have a safe trip home 'eh?

Is that the truck you had snow chains on at Yosemite a few weeks ago? Just curious, Can they damage tires? I don't have much experience with chains.
Very good question and also glad you are all ok. Happy New Year
It IS a good question and I'm hoping someone will post some comments on this. I know on my skidsteer the only thing I've noticed is if you put the chains on inside out, the hooks for the cross-links can dig into the sidewall that way. But I was not under the impression that the chains can damage the tires (e.g. the steel belts etc.) at least when dirving on snow packed roads. But would like to hear from someone who knows better! - 2BLAZERSExplorer

fast lane passing on I5 , my truck yanked left, loud bang lots of noises, fighting the swerves to hold my line. brought it to a safe stop after a half mile. total damage, lost bofh lines to the air bags, inner and outhe fender area of the bed torn up, one shredded tire. finished the last 150 miles on a spare tire and my leaft springs. TC was undamaged
Glad you were safe. So heavy are you running, GVW and by the axles verse your weight tire/wheel/axle/etc...ratings? just curious don't mean to start a weight police posting.... - Mello_MikeExplorerWow, Eric!! Glad that everyone and everything pretty much came out okay after that. I've seen blowouts cause much more damage than that.
I had that happen to me once on the interstate pulling an Airstream and it wasn't fun. - Led_67Explorer
