I know I am going to regret posting this but here it goes???Have any of you ran the on board propane generator with the AC through the night? What is the run time on a single 20 lb tank? I do have 2 on board just in case. I am looking at 11pm thru 6am ish so 7 hours per night for 3 nights. Once the camper get to the desired temp it should hold the cold quite well.I am planning on an off the grid trip and will have to run the AC at night due to the temps and humidity. I am not going to sweat through the night, I have AC and I plan on using it.Please hold off your noise complaint comments and other un-needed input. I will not be around others that the noise would effect.The camper is a 2013 Lance 992 with 2 - 20lb tanks and the factory ac unit with electronic stat.There will be a Walmart near so a tank swap is always an option if I get low on the first tank.

an 20 lb tank holds 4.7 gallons.A quick search on internet shows a onan 3600 will eat around .6 gallons per hour

The Onan burns about half a gallon LPG per hour of use when under load. You should expect over 10 hours of typical use on one full 20 lb cylinder. Knowing that we use our generator often, we welcomed Arctic Fox's dual 30 lb cylinder setup in our short bed TC. Even so, on long dry camp trips we carry an additional 100 lbs of LPG in our trailer for our LPG campfire and outside cook stove.

I ran my A/C via Onan 2500 watt generator for 7 hours on a 20 lb. tank. The 20 lb. (politically correct) LP tanks will only fill to approx. 80% capacity.

Your air conditioner must have had the compressor running most of the time - I typically can get 15 hours of run time on a 30 lb tank with air conditioning running in 90 degree desert. We also bake with a convection oven while on generator, but I do not run the air conditioning and oven at the same time.

I was looking at going down to the Hattaris point, but that beach is closed to everything accept feet, and I here that can be changed at any time. :(.

Onan and propane - one multiply low efficiency of other.
I do have propane generator and two 30lb tanks, but when going for long weekend I took my Honda 3000ei with me. Having front hitch and load platform it was easy.
Honda takes less than 2.5 gallons of gasoline and used in my motorhome would run 15000 btu AC for continuous 12+ hr.
I know buying second generator is not that easy, but you, or your family might have one just like I did.
On long weekend in Sierra we got spot in the shade and I did not have to run AC btw.

With my 2.5KW generator I use about 1.5 lbs of propane per hour, or I get about 3 hours of run time, with the AC going, per gallon of propane . Roughly 14 or 15 hours per 20 pound tank.

I will not return to the beach until it completely reopens in august.
