- travelnutzExplorer IIYes, Foam-Core is fantastic under aluminum siding. Stops drafts and insulates too. I had the Foam-Core, storms, and the Arctic Cold Weather Package options added to both our new Lances we ordered them at the same time. 1997 Lance Squire 4000 and the 1997 Lance Legend 990. Later made my own version of storms out of 1/4" (actually .200-.220) Lucite for the 990 as 3 of the glass storms got broken when stored in my pole building for 12 years. Of course, nobody admits breaking them!
- vern_kellyExplorerI have a 1998 Lance Squire 5000. It has been a great camper. I have most of the options on my camper. (generator, queen size bed mattress, outside shower, air conditioner, electric jacks, but the option that is probably worth the most both for summer and winter is the cold weather package with foam insulation. I found this out when I camped with a friend that had the same camper without that option. His air conditioner had to run much harder and his heater too.
Maybe that option is standard on the legend model. When I bought mine the only difference between the legend and the squire were cabinets that were trimmed nicer, curtains vs blinds, fancier counter tops and more painted stripes on the sides for a fancier look on the legend. Higher price tag went with it.:) - travelnutzExplorer IIWe traded the tables from from our Lance Squire 4000 before we sold it to our Lance Legend 990 for the same reasons. Much more room for two and I also remounted the post to table slide on a 5/8" thick furniture grade birch plywood Gorilla Glued and screwed to the table's underside for a spacer to offset the slide system so the table can be used 360 degrees and have equal space for seating on all 3 sides. Our table top looks similar to Okan-star's as it's about the same length but easily half again as wide so 3-4 can eat comfortably from it at the same time. Also so both our 17" screened laptops and a beverage and/or snack have plenty of room at the same time. Same oak type border around it. Love it!
Added: I liberally silicone sprayed both mating sides of the sanded smooth plywood surfaces that contact each other so it slides with very light fingertip presure. Been working great since 2009 and haven't had to re-spray once since. No jerking of the table required for back and forth movement as I also took the up/down slop out of the slide so it's solid feeling. Table goes all the way to the dinette seat back cushion for travel etc and stays when traveling. Even allows the bathroom door to open fully so no squeezing thru needed. - okan-starExplorer

- BradWExplorer IIDitto on the table. We removed the slide mechanism from the bottom of the table and rotated it 90 degrees. Works great for two people.

One thing that drove me nuts about my 500 is the table is to big and you cant get your legs behind it to sit or lay and watch tv
I made a smaller table that still slides and moved the pedistal away from the seating , the brace now folds down out of the way
Used the same carpet for the new floor the pedistal goes thru - okan-starExplorer

Wow!! Fantastic work on the 500!! I have same tv cabinet in my 1998 Lance 990. Great idea..What did you install when you replaced the cabinet door for the TV. I see carpeted backing. Did you size some plywood and attached the carpet. Would like to do the same thing you did. No satellite though.
Thanks
I use 1/2 " plywood , skinned the inside with some paneling that came from the area I put the inverter and converter in . Carpeted it with some bass boat carpet I had, and screwed it over the face frame of the cab with drywall type screws that sink into the carpet
I ran the wires from the winegard tv plug along the back of the cab and out the carpeted ply
Added a shelf in the cab also - billyray50ExplorerWow!! Fantastic work on the 500!! I have same tv cabinet in my 1998 Lance 990. Here is photos of the one I sold off last spring.
The bathroom is badly designed in them, and the dated TV cabinet takes up lots of space.
I put a skylight in with a van air vent for headroom , fliped the shower around the other way for more room, covered the skylight with reflective stuff from camp world
The old tv cab , I removed the back dr and installed a flat screen with a tv mt. I use a dish box with a ext hard drive on the shelf under it and a tailgater on a ladder mount
The inside of the cab provides a lot more storage
Also put a 1 hole faucet in and stainless plugs in the other two holes so I could fit a dish rack here ,its velcroed in place
