Now lets think about this for a few minutes. Wind speed and wind VOLUME are two entirely different things. I could bolt a small runner intake on my engine and the intake air runner speed would go through the roof. I would have very little wind volume and that is what make power.
In fact if I dropped the 3" pipe coming out of the leaf blower down to a 1 inch pipe and measured the wind speed the wind speed would probably be over 30 mph. Big deal, I'm still losing a ton of volume.

Really? And just how does that work. Most of us know that a gas engine has to run at stoichiometric volumes. 14.7 part air to 1 gasoline. So how does this gadget give you better fuel economy when the O2 sensor sees more air it gives the engine more fuel?

What a moron. Even my old 340 engine with no cats burned everything except 14 parts / million of gasoline. My BMW burned everything. 0 parts / million on the last smog test. There was not HC's coming out my exhaust. And this idiot says he picked up 30%!! ROTFLMAO.

PT was correct!! :S - Some current/recent model cars and trucks actually have devices in place to straighten the air flow/ remove turbulence.

They did have a basis in application with manifold fueled.
The Vortex and Bernoulli affect does have some real benefits with
manifold fueled. The droplets do bet vaporized 'better' or 'more'
in the manifold with those two affects...as does just lengthening the
manifold runners
But with direct injection, there is no fuel in the manifold to vaporize
Just noodle this: the cross section of these things SUBTRACTS from
the cross section area of the manifold run. Plus the 'swirl' (Vortex)
interrupts air flow...something you do NOT want to do on an intake
manifold...anyone know what flow matching and polishing intake manifolds
do for the performance of any ICE?
Yes, the Bernoulli affect does change the pressure, but that is
mainly a good thing for venturi fueled systems (carbs...NOT TBI, nor
port, nor direct)

- Ford is using the centrally located turbos on their diesel engines. Just thinking about it, it would seem to be great design for a forced intake direct injection engine.
Super short exhaust feed into the turbo would mean less loss of heat. - Mr Truck did say that there was no change in loaded mpg or 0-60 on the Duramax.
What does this tell us about the induction system that the Duramx uses VS the Ford? - How long have these been around. The OEM's are scratching their heads trying to get more power and more mpg but none have adopted this.
With turbos and direct injection the 'swirling the air argument' sure doesnt seem obvious. I used to think carb or port injected engines could possibly benifit but these claims about the effect on these diesels. Sure have me scratching my head.
Doesn't the turbo swirl the air enough. At least one installation shows them putting it in between the air filter and the turbo.
