New trailer on a permanent site -slides staying out

No reason it should be a problem as long as they're all the way in or all the way out. It's when they're in the middle that things tend to leak and stuff gets in.

You should be okay. You are basing your decision on what is best for today. Think carefully about any future changes in your needs and wants.

My concern would be the unnecessary weathering on the tops of the slides with them out. I keep mine in when not in use.

When we get to it next October, the last thing I'll have to worry about is the slides not going out!

Takes all of 2 seconds to deploy the slides. Not sure what the problem is with that it's not like it is going to take you an hour to set up when you get there to deploy the slides. :?

Why take a chance on inclement weather, high winds and rain and maybe a branch crashing down on the top of your slide, water leaks, and if you have a topper on the slide oh well, etc......that you won't know about until you come back to your RV. Just saying.

I agree with AZDRYHEAT and ROCKHILLMANOR. Weathering would concern me if I kept them out and just why?

I have RV Sites that some of my renters leave there slides out during the summer here in Yuma. Nearly all have a lot of dust, sand inside there RVs when
they get back in Oct. One Guy has 3 slides on his 40 ft 5th w and only two worked. Another guy was going to take his RV in to get a new roof and the 15 ft slide would not go in after being out for 5 years. I would put the slides in if I was you

There is another post that deals with the same issue. The person left the slide out for 3 years and now it won't go in. My slides roof are thin and would not take the snow load where my seasonal is at.

With the slide in, the TT is better sealed against the outside elements. You have a rubber flap between you ant the outside when the slide is open and a solid rubber gasket making contact around the entire slide when the slide is in.

Look at the bottom edge from inside when your slide is out, then decide.

Many people say that they can manually deploy slides, but in my case, I don't see how do do that.

We've had an rv on seasonal or long term campsites for 10 years this year.

I move the slides in and out 3-4 times during a six month period. I do this for two reasons, first to ensure everything is operational after cleaning & lubing, the second to move the seals from a standing single position.

I do this as a personal preference. We have many friends who leave slides out six months at a time.
