- Is that a Cummins label on the front fender? Fred sure knows how to stir the pot! :B
- Fast_MoparExplorerTwo pages and nobody has calculated that this engine has a 12 year payback vs. the gas engine???? (Yes, that was sarcasm.)
I was in Europe last year and there were diesels everywhere. I drove the US equivalent of a Nissan Murano with a turbo diesel and a 6 speed manual, and it was great.
It's nice to have choices. If you don't like these light duty diesels, don't buy one. - RobertRyanExplorer

I wonder why Nissan does not want to use one of the smaller diesels (1.8-2.4) that they put in that size truck for global market. Or maybe they will and pay Cummins to use the brand name?
Firstly the Cetane level of US Diesel is a lot lower than what you get in Europe and elsewhere. 2.5litre is the smallest diesel you get in a Nissan Pickup globally.
Nissan have been working with Cummins to get a Diesel engine that can run well on the fairly rough stuff you get in the US.
The Spanish built Nissan Navara is a bulked up version of the Frontier with a 2,100lb payload Dual Cab and 405 lbs ft of torque from the 3 Litre diesel.

- Perrysburg_DodgExplorerThe wheels don't even match, silver in the front and red in the rear.
Don - PowerdudeExplorerMore choices = better for the consumer.
Otherwise, we'd all be driving a Lada.
Of course, some people would prefer that... - TacoExplorerThat is one ugly truck. Well the truck itself isn't that ugly but the color scheme is hideous. The diesel engine might sell pretty well in the midsize trucks if the price isn't too high.
- 6_7_tow_rigExplorerDiesel is pretty cool, the paint job..... I agree gag me with a spoon
- trop-a-calExplorerThe move to Diesel is a no brainer as it's clean and more power than gasoline. This set up will probably be in the Nissan High Cube RV's soon for thousands less than the Benz. Probably the 5.0 Cummins with an eight speed to get around 20 MPG's or gasoline equivalent of 16 MPG in cost at the pump. MSRP probably under $75K US. Would not be surprised if it has a 4 WD option with Winter under belly for year around. As to how they paint it, let's not use arrest me red, how about prospector Gold.
- Turtle_n_PeepsExplorerLOL; Rick when I first opened the picture I thought it was one of those weird paint schemes that hide all the body lines and stuff for new trucks!
Then I realized that someone thought this was cool and were paid big bucks to think of this stuff. :S
I still think you were correct. They just ran out of silver paint!! :B
