AFAIK the competition for this truck is really just the F150 3.5L EcoB with the HD Option. Probably similar payloads and tow capacities. The F150 EcoB has more HP, the TitanXD has more Torque.
Looks like the TitanXD is built a lot heavier than the F150 HD, drive train and frame. Definitely will be a heavier truck than the Al-bodied F150 and probably over 8500#, so no EPA numbers.
Titan XD could well get better mileage when highway towing, but not necessarily around town. The price of diesel becomes less of a concern when you realize that the 3.5L EcoB really prefers Premium when towing heavy. That's what I run 100% of the time on mine.
I'm eagerly awaiting the final numbers on this truck. But I'm afraid it's price will be way over a similarly equipped F150 HD with the 3.5L EcoB. On the other hand, you can't get the F150 HD in a short wheel base extended cab (which I prefer), and I do love diesel torque. Soooo ... we'll see. But if it's not less $$ than a similarly equipped F250 diesel, to hell with it.
