- demilesExplorerYep just like those 1/2 ton F250 PSDs with 1800-1900 lb payloads.
- HunterredExplorerIt’s a half ton with a Diesel engine. You will run out of payload same as a GM or Ford 1500 series. 9000 lb 5th wheel your talking 1700 lbs of pin, plus hitch plus stuff, you’ll need 22-2300 lbs of payload minimum.

Nope your wrong on that one, my XD has over 1800lb payload. - IdaDExplorerThey aren't materially cheaper than full HD diesels and don't get better mileage either. Nissan missed the mark on this one, and I'm one who thinks Nissans are generally really good vehicles. I had almost 200k miles on a first gen Xterra based on the old hardbody that was bulletproof.
Go for the big brother Cummins in the Ram. - goducks10ExplorerYou'll be maxed out on payload and RAWR with a 9000 lb 5th wheel.
- demilesExplorerLots of opinions from those don’t own one or ever towed with one. I’ve had mine for a little over a year now, 2,000 miles towing 8,000 lbs with no issues. Its capabilities for comparison exceeds the 06 Silverado 2500 8.1L Allison 4.10 combo it replaced. It won’t be as fast as the big three diesel trucks but it’s a rock solid stable towing platform.

I'm not sure it's "needless to say", so can you expound upon it please? - SidecarFlipExplorer IIIMy bud is an engineer at Nissan if Farmington Hills. Needless to say I've been advised not to even look at one, which I haven't.
- Ron3rdExplorer IIIProbably get more info on one of the Nissan forums. The truck is too new to show up here
- RinconVTRExplorerNissan goofed on the diesel Titan XD. Crew Cabs have somewhat low payload and the 5.0L Cummins does not get any better MPG than the 6+L's from Ford/Chevy/Dodge and they are known as dogs (very slow) on Titan owner forums. (Not to mention many problem reports with emissions.)
They do try to make up for it at the dealer level by lowering prices to prices not found anywhere online. But its a pain and still not low enough IMO.
That said, they are REALLY nice trucks and the most comfortable truck I have ever driven. I've test driven the Gas V8 and 5.0L more than I've every test driven everything else combined trying to sell myself on one. I was easily sold on the gas V8, just not enough to rid my Toyota V8.
