Wait 2 more years for the SuperDuty aluminum body truck with the 5.0 EcoBeast. I'll be in line for that one. That'll have the new Sync in it also, get rid of that MicroSoft mistake.
That could be a very much non starter. It will be just a 5 litre turbocharged engine, not even mildly Ecoboost
If it gets turbos it will be a ecoboost, its what Ford does now.
Well DW and I went to the Detroit Auto Show and I talked to a Ford Powertrain Engineer and was told by him (already knew this) there will be no V8 Ecoboosts not now not ever. So that should end that discussion.
Don
Don,
Because someone at an Auto Show gave you an answer to a rumored product that currently is not on display or no public announcement means nothing!
You should already know this...
Don has said the same thing as a Ford Engineer here and they have used Ecoboost engines . He is on the money, end of story Perrysburg Dodgeboy wrote:

Its on the internet, right here-right now, so its TRUE..
No V8 Ecoboost "ever"
Time will tell.
Don, who can you really trust and believe anyway? :S
2 weeks ago most engineers from Ford would have told you your crazy when you said you heard about a new GT40... :B (Cause they are on a need to know basis)
I have heard from a Ford engineer here, that the 2 litre and 3.5 were the max capacities for an Ecoboost
Side note on GT40, it was penned by an Australian from the Ford Design Studios in Melbourne
Australian Designs new GT40 - hone_eagleExplorerThe employee will say what he is told to say, right up to the day he is told to say the opposite.

Ford Stockholders have done well. Ford is by far the highest return investment of the big 3 historically.
not in the last 52 weeks...
low high
Ford $13.26 - 18.12
GM $28.82 - 39.77
FCAU $8.54 - 13.76
Had you bought low and sold high GM would have made you $6.95/share,
FCAU would have got you $5.22/share and Ford would have netted you a grand total of $4.86/share. With FCAU at a lower share price, one could have bought more shares for less money, then the other 2 and made off with a pretty decent return, if bought low and sold high.
52 week window $1000 dollar investment
Ford 75 sharesx$4.86=$364.50 increase
GM 35 sharesx$6.95=$243.25 increase
Ford increase 36.66% Dividend per share .15
GM increase 37.99% Dividend per share .30 no dividends paid prior to 2014
FCAU Increase 61.12% Dividend per share .0
Having said that I bought Ford at 1.43 and have been paid dividends quarterly for the last 7 years.
More to consider than a 52 week window of share price.
Now do that hypothetical $1,000 ten years ago. This is rhetorical, I was just pointing out that no investment is a guarantee for future success. I wish I only purchased at the low and sold at the high.
I just used the 52 week comparison you provided. Now if I go back 10 years as suggesed only 1 of the 3 stocks was available 10 years ago. Ford. GM stock of 10 years ago became worth $0 and new company was formed. Chrysler was bought by Fiat. - hone_eagleExplorerIB never said that .
I live 20kms from the plant (were are you? oh ya 6000 miles away), the same building the 2.7 nano heads come from, those guys know a ecoboost cylinder head when they see one ,and they did years ago.
I used to work there and still talk to fellow workers ,we know what a ecoboost head has to look like before its machined and after.
If - and its still 'if'- the 5.0 gets boosted it will have 2 and direct injection ,why would it not?
It could also have a crank that de strokes it a bit, maybe 4.0? - mich800Explorer
