I paid $25,000 for my pickup in 2005 (Leftover 2004, with 5.9 Cummins) I looked up the book on it, and its still close to $25,000. That same pickup with a hemi is worth around $12,000.
So you tell me???
I paid $400/ounce for gold in 2010 and it's worth $1200 today why wouldn't you buy gold today?
Don't kid yourself. Vehicles are not purchased for investment purposes. Pre-2006 diesels draw a crazy amount of money on re-sale due to emissions on newer diesels and overall complexity. Don't get me wrong, I drove an 06 for 125,000 glorious miles and sold for about 8K less than I paid so I get it. I just don't think in this case the past is a good indicator of the future. In mathematical terms your data is flawed :) fwiw, the 5.9 is an awesome truck and something tells me you don't care what it's worth because you aren't selling :)
