Sorry, but have to disagree. The arguabley most important is gas vs. diesel. All I know is- from experience- I don't want to be one of "those guys" pulling a big rig out west up and down those grades at 30mph.
Yup! here is my 29K load coming up on the Ashland summit on I-5 going over the Siskyous Northbound. One short spot just before the pass it drops to 53. This is even with 3:42 gears. Nothing better than pulling west coast grades at around 55 or more.
