I could light a $100 bill on fire to warm my hands too, it would work, just wouldn't be the best decision for me to make.
Diesels do pull better than their equivalent gas engine cousins - but for some of us, that's not the final word.
Fuel costs, repair costs, purchase price, cab heating ability, not having to bother with DEF and emissions related CELs, and other things also matter.
