I said way back when before this test came out that if I was driving the EB I could drink a beer before the ED got to the top. I was correct. :B

I would have liked to know the speed of all 3 going up the hill? :E

Nobody ever said torque equals speed. Torque moves a load. HP wins races.
As the load gets heavier, torque gets more and more important.
I don't believe those two trucks were ever supposed to compete against each other. They have totally different markets.

When is the 5.0L EB coming in the superduty?

What this tow test showed is how much earlier/sooner diesels make power. The problem is, the VM Motori motor tops out at 240HP, so once the EB get's up there in its HP range (beyond 240hp), it will pass. All towing requires horsepower. It's just that diesels build it up sooner. If you could hitch that 7,000 lbs trailer to a lamborghini aventador or La Ferrari, it would surely pass the F-150 (if it's transmission and remaining drivetrain doesn't shatter from the extra load).

Also, I do believe the VM Motori diesel has quite a bit left in it. It's only boosting 16psi max at stock, while the HD diesels are pushing pressures of around 30psi stock.

Good results for the Ford. I liked where at the beginning of the video they mention that this is the course where they run for the SAE certification. I didn't know Ford had decided to sign on for that.

What were the results of the MPG comparison between the 3 trucks?

They are both 1500 pickups. They both have very expensive motors in them. They are both VERY expensive 1500 pickups. They are both meant to tow and come with tow packages. The Ford EB is a fuel saver towing rig and so is the Dodge ED. (that is what they are marketed as)

They are in exact direct competition with each other.

Believe me, the mags will do a tow test with these two and a GM. Why? Because they are all in competition with each other. :) If they do GM better pray that they do the test at low altitude. :B

Yawn. The Ford has 85 horsepower more than the Ram. Of course the Ford will win.

Yep, 35% more HP for the EB.

No surprises from me. If you arbitrarily limit engine speed to 3000rpm the Ram diesel would be quicker and use less fuel. That's how many truck owners drive. But WOT that 2.7L looks like a great combo. I can't wait to see EPA ratings and real world owners!
