Every time I use my F150 with the Ecoboost engine I come away saying "Boy, the power is impressive".
Every time I use my Jeep GC with the Ecodiesel engine I come away saying "Boy, the fuel economy is impressive".
And to me that sums it up!
Not a better post in this entire thread!! And there in lies the simple choice. Decide what's higher on your priority list , make the appropriate selection & allow others to do the same. We're on the threshold of an exciting new era in fuel efficient trucks that rival the capabilities of the behemoth gas guzzlers. The ecoboost & ecodiesel are just the first volleys in what promises to be some amazing advances in the light truck world. And we're sure to see a more perfect truck coming down the pike that does offer the utopian combination of power & excellent economy while maintaining reliability; whether it be the new ecoboost or the smaller cummins or who knows what, only time will tell. There are bound to be mistakes as well as great strides accomplished. At some point, one of the manufacturers are going to envoke the Peter principle when they find the point at which they have exceeded the bounds of reliability by coaxing too much power from limited displacement. But all in all, it's an exciting time to be a truck enthusiast!
