- justafordguyExplorerIf you haven't driven a Raptor, you really should. It's not just a standard f150 with different stickers and all terrain tires. It's a very capable truck when used for what is was designed for. I love mine, it's not a 1 ton truck but tons of fun to drive fast off or on road. :D

Don't think I want either for a tow truck.
x2- Was just wondering what all this rhetoric had to do with towing.
If I could afford it I would love to have the Power Wagon to tow with.
And also get the Ford to go down to the mall. - kellertx5erExplorer

Thumbs up on the Raptor. I was waiting to see it do a high-speed pass and dust the Rebel.
The RAM Rebel has a very nice interior but no skid plates.
No skid plates? You might want to re-watch the video. He says both trucks have them. Hell me truck has them.
Took your advice and watched it again. No skid plates.. Unless they are tiny?
There are some skid plates but like you said they're somewhat small. Also I notice there's no skid plate for the gas tank. I would like to see a protective plate for the gas tank.- LimogesManExplorer

Ford 411hp and 16 mpg
Quite the mpg penalty (-24%) for 16 hp (+4%). - Fast_MoparExplorer

To me the Rebel is a more capable 4x4 compared to the standard Ram 4x4 that basically looks to have the same ~ ground clearance as a 2wd truck.
I would agree, since standard Ram 4X4 trucks seem to not be much taller than their 2WD counterparts.
As stated earlier, the Rebel is primarily an appearance package. It is available in 2WD and 4WD, and you can even get the V6 in the 4WD model (but not in 2WD for some reason). Either way, the Rebel is designed to compete against the Chevy Z71 package and Ford FX4 package. Ram does not build a Raptor competitor and does not claim to build a Raptor competitor. The Ford Raptor is basically in a class of its own. Fast Mopar wrote:

Raptor > Rebel. I feel the Rebel is more aligned against the FX4 trim level that Ford used to have (it's now an option package). However, the Rebel does 1-up the FX4 package/trim from Ford with the air suspension and higher ride height.
This is exactly correct. The Raptor is designed for serious off road use and does a fine job doing what it was designed to do. The Rebel is more of an appearance package, and it happens to have the air suspension and skid plates. The Rebel was never designed to be equal to the Raptor. I did not watch the video so I cannot comment on it, but this is comparing apples to oranges. Ram does not offer a Raptor equivalent truck.
To me the Rebel is a more capable 4x4 compared to the standard Ram 4x4 that basically looks to have the same ~ ground clearance as a 2wd truck.
