Rust-oleum NeverWet

  • Watch this youtube video. It will blow your mind!

    Ultra Ever Dry Waterproof Coating

  • Might be good for inside of cars and RV's where kids spill on seats and couches. Fairly cheap to try out and let us know how it lasts. Any takers to be the ginea pig?
  • ....just reading the previous doubters comments: superhydrophobic surfaces and coatings ARE REAL. If you like, I could post a list of several hundred US patent links attesting to this technology (funded by extremely serious scientific research consortiums, including the US Government, foreign Governments and multi-billion dollar corporations).

  • ....this is so funny, and apropos. I was just 3 weeks ago discussing the superhydrophobic surface of the ladybug (insect known as Coccinella, or as C-7) with Sleepy via e-mail, and suggesting if that surface/coating property could be replicated, the resultant technology would be highly desirable (practically and economically). Many technologies today are/have been developed observing nature: biomimetic material, or in this case, a surface.

I turns out that most insect wings, bird feathers and many plant parts have this superhydrophobic characteristic (or, superhydrophobicity).

....anyhow,this product appears to have the characteristic lower water wettability, where the surface *contact angle* could be approaching 150 deg.

I could see this product as a vehicle electrical component protectant; as a wood component protectant (read: protecting the wood in RV components for some length of time), and maybe even a vinyl siding liquid shedding agent (I don't know how this would interact wth anti UV coatings?)...

did you read the reviews? There are plenty of suggestions there. Also, I would think surfaces are now self cleaning since stuff doesn't stick and simple water rinse could handle anything else. Why would you NEED soap and water???

I guess because we are old enough to not believe product advertising at face value. LOL!

  • Did you read the instructions? It's not to be used anywhere that will be washed with soap and water, or scrubbed. As good as the demo is, I can't think of a single use for it.
