RV's with free standing dining tables

We are contemplating the purchase of a Arctic Fox 32A. This unit comes standard with a free standing dining room table and chairs but has the option of a booth. The problem is I cant find one with a booth and they don't seem to order them that way.
Our developmentally disabled adult son will always be with us and I wonder how well the free standing table works out.

Is it a nuisance to get to the inside chair on a regular basis? (Doesn't seem like it pulls out very far)

Does the carpet under the table wear?

Do the chairs bash into each other when driving? (I'm very particular about dings and such) Are they a bother to secure?

If anyone has suggestions, I'm open to other premium brands with a similar floor plan!
I'm also looking at Grand Design but there's no dealer near me.

Thanks in advance,
Scott

  • Scott,
I'm somewhat local to your location. We have a new Arctic Fox. We where able to order it just the way we wanted it with some changes and additions. We did have to wait for delivery until a new run from the factory on our model was completed.
    It worked out great.
PM me if you want the name of the dealer and a contact to the owner who was able to make this all happen through his contacts with Northwood.
  • I have a free standing table and chairs. To me, yes, to get to the inside chair would be a hassle. To secure chairs, depends. One I had was a pain, this one the chairs hook over a bracket attached to the table.

An option I have, would be to turn the table sideways and 3 chairs, each having their own space. Possibility?
