Thanks for your reply. Have you seen this video on Eternabond's website? rv roof repair They show the tape being pressed down with nothing more than a bare hand "using moderate pressure," according to their instructions.
I haven't found anything on their site that specifies a certain minimum amount of pressure required to activate the adhesive. I certainly would use a roller if I did this fix, but I wonder if some people lean into it with all their weight when in reality much less pressure might suffice?
That is the only one that I have seen that did not use a roller. The adhesive in the initial application is really good and once it makes contact, is not easily removed, thus requiring care.
Using a roller does burst the microsealants and in the other videos, is used.
Without the roller is still better than caulks. With a roller, even much better.
