I was wondering about that. I've never seen installed Eternabond up close and personal, just pictures on the internet.

I have duct taped some things in the past and it seems like the final appearance depended largely on the tape color used vs the color it's going onto, and how flat the tape ended up. The more irregular the surface, the worse the tape will end up looking.

I haven't found anything on their site that specifies a certain minimum amount of pressure required to activate the adhesive. I certainly would use a roller if I did this fix, but I wonder if some people lean into it with all their weight when in reality much less pressure might suffice?

That is the only one that I have seen that did not use a roller. The adhesive in the initial application is really good and once it makes contact, is not easily removed, thus requiring care.

Using a roller does burst the microsealants and in the other videos, is used.

Without the roller is still better than caulks. With a roller, even much better.

I called Aliner to ask what they recommend for resealing seams and such, and they advised more silicone caulk. So I would think that the skylight might be held in with silicone.

Personally, I am leaning toward using Eternabond at some point... unless someone knows a reason why it would not work on the surfaces of an Aliner. Removing the skylight and trying to get it to seat back in properly sounds to me like a recipe for a nightmare... at least with my level of skill.

You should tell us the year and model of your Aliner.

Most models the skylight is adhered in place with sealant and there are no mechanical fasteners (screws).

You must remove the skylight, removed all mastic, and reinstall.

You will need to create a jig from wood which will allow it to be clamped with even pressure all the way around the skylight until the mastic sets.

Call Columbia Northwest for the correct sealant/mastic.

Heng's roof seal. More like paint, so it gets in everywhere.

Neither. Eternabond around the perimeter of it then Dicor around the edges of the tape. No more leaks!
