When I was a young auto mechanic a guy brought in a 68 Corvette for a blown engine. We tore the engine down and found caked sugar on the pistons. Someone had dumped a large bag of sugar in his fuel tank. The owner never found out who did it or why.

I saw that on Mythbusters. It is hard to kill an engine.
Sugar doesn't dissolve very well in gasoline......and the small amount that does is not harmful
