When I was a young auto mechanic a guy brought in a 68 Corvette for a blown engine. We tore the engine down and found caked sugar on the pistons. Someone had dumped a large bag of sugar in his fuel tank. The owner never found out who did it or why.

Total BS- a fine mesh metal filter stopped sugar in a car of mine did not even get to the pump.
Running back on the road in a hour.
I saw it first hand. It's possible it was poured down the intake; there was sugar on the pistons and they were seized.
Well that makes a lot more sense
