Stabilizing: Wobble Stopper vs Platform vs Jack Stands

I like that table made out of 6 by 6's.

We built a table , 6 x 6 x 2ft tall legs 2x4 framing and 3/4 plywood top
To move it there is a board across the back two legs just below the height of my four wheel
moving dolly. I slide dolly under cross brace and move the hole thing like a wheel barrow.

I did the plywood X stands. One sheet of 3/4" cut into 2 foot sections supports it rock solid.

The area you set it on will have to be level.

When your done you can use the plywood for another project.

I use 2x6 saw horses that are truck bed height now. Jack it up about 3 inches and back under. Much easier that raising it bed high each time.

At home, long term storage, The TC sits upon a stack of old concrete foundation forms 3'×6'×4-1/4" stacked 4 high under the front of the TC floor tub right under the fresh water tank. I figure this supports a majority of weight. It sits on the rear jacks and the front jacks are lowered just to the point of ground contact. Very stable. I have wabble stoppers but not installed. When traveling, the TC stays on the truck. I'll eventually use the wabble stoppers.

Where you're using the camper should also factor into your decision. You're not going to haul a stack of pallets or concrete blocks and beams around with you if you are full-timing and staying in one place hundreds of miles from home for weeks at a time. It's a whole other thing if you've just got it parked in the backyard as a guest house, or you're staying in it while your house is renovated.

IMHO the best bang for the buck is the plywood X-stands.

The problem with jack stands is that they're still only POINTS of support. No matter what you put on them or under them, they only support from the cradle, which is going to be unsteady to a degree.

A plywood X-brace has 8 feet of contact on the camper, and 8 feet of contact on the ground (i.e. four legs, each two feet long).

IMHO... Wobblestoppers are the way to go for a couple reasons--

* They work.
* Well known history of absolutely horrible customer service from the company that makes them. (#sarcasm)
* Storage - they take up no usable space -- they stay permanently attached to your front jacks.
* Convenience - they're just right there on the jacks - fold them out, hook 'em, done.
* Camper goes as low to the ground as you want - with any kind of stands, you're higher, more steps. Not a problem if you're sober... but....

I'll be going to the Oregon coast for 10 days soon. The first thing I do is unload the TC so I can use the truck to run around while I'm there. They work exactly as advertised, just as good as any kind of stand I've tried in years past.

For traveling the aluminum stands are nice-no weight easy to store. They are short-17" at full height so need to set up, make what ever to use before hitting the road.

I threw this together before an extended trip..

Across the front I counter-bored a 2x4 to set on top between 2 stands, center screw that enters top of post.
Rear just blocks with screw to set on top (keeps them from falling off when setting up)
Bases I used 2x, match drilled all the stands and set couple of finish nails-keep stands from walking off (or just around perimeter). Goes without saying just snug the stands. The stands by themselves do get rid of most of the movement. Walmart etc carries for same Amazon price-

I did make jack stabilizers but dont know how much time you have.
2 are attached jack to side once jacks swung out, 2 more are attached across front once off truck. Night and day, when raising/ lowering.

Grit dog, the camper is at my place so storage isn't an issue. My TC was pretty stable lowered until I added dually brackets.

Tizi, those are some heavy duty saw horse brackets.

I have some of those small jack stands, they are too short and wobble. I ended up getting saw horses. They work great. I paid about half of what amazon shows.

Unless Hosts reccomendation is different than AF, we use ours extensively off the truck with nothing supporting the floor. Lower it down until the jacks are only extended about a foot and it's rock solid for sway.
To spread the load if you want to support the floor, plywood squares under the jack stands or saw horses will work great. I've never packed stuff along to set the camper floor on, don't even do that in storage anymore, but the make your own saw horse brackets and some pre cut 2x4s for the beams and legs would be pretty compact to haul with you.
You'll still want most of the weight on the camper jacks anyway. Much wider foot print than the floor.
