- trail-explorerExplorerIn many cases, our trucks and campers cost more than some of the crapy rigs I see ALLOWED in these snobbish resorts.
I'd much rather travel in my truck, than in a class A B or C while hearing the dishes, silverware and pots and pans rattle around in the cabinets while heading down the road. - misterpat1975Explorer

Think!... the best privacy (De)fence is distance... and I mean a lot of it.
... why would anyone want to stay where others are piled on top of one another?
Perhaps the location has a health spa, mineral springs or pool and you want to use their amenities, maybe the resort is close to a popular location that saves you from paying large hotel bills, or you are social and like to mix with different crowds instead of just a particular demographic...
For us, variety makes life interesting and we make friends whether they are sleeping in a hotel, tent or diesel pusher. We may dry camp in the desert or on the coast, stay in a gated manicured resort with full hookups and extra services, or camp in a casino or store parking lot. - dakonthemountaiExplorer

Well that the story of my life I'm always a little short....... :) But really I'm right at 28' I think. No matters we stayed at the Van Buren State Park 26 bucks last night and had a priceless sun set..
On to more light houses today
And THAT right there is why! What a GORGEOUS photo! I can imagine the happy feeling of watching it! :D
Dak - dakonthemountaiExplorerI wouldn't WANT to stay in a place like that anyway! I've heard of this before too... All I would say is "whatever"... and then find a nice little private spot somewhere like you did and enjoy my time with the satisfaction that all "those coaches" are trapped like sardines in the "resort"... Funny thing (and I'm NOT intending to brag) is that if I wanted to have one, I could afford one of those big high end coaches and I would STILL not stay there! It's the surroundings, and the people, NOT the rig that is important. I LOVE my "old truck and camper"... :) Life is too short to stress about that, and I'm glad you didn't.
Happy camping!
