toilet height

it now seems my wife is saying what I've made comment toward since we purchased our TT. As I mentioned in the beginning I felt the toilet height was to low. It now has become a subject that needs to be addressed...I've been around RV's since I was a small child. that being said, I've never questioned a toilet..??? So, like we all do, I began looking/shopping for a replacement. Other than the simple height, there are so many features and operating functions associated with a toilet, I'm lost. And the price, OMG, $150.to $5-600..why.?

Help me please...

  • We put the taller toilets in the house a couple years ago so the camper toilet does seem low but I think it is normal height. We live with it as I hate to mess with things that work.
  • When I installed the old Aqua Magic in my Starcraft, I built a riser of wood that raises the toilet 1 1/2". It is now 1" higher than the Kohler in my house. I think I could have gone with the stock height and not have noticed the difference. Measure your S&B toilet height and compare to the Thetford, they may be the same.
  • We used a three inch riser like the amazon link. We had no problems with the foot pedal or anything else - worked just like normal. We got it at the dealer who sold us the trailer.
  • On Amazon it seems to have good reviews,I may have to look into this also, being Tall this may be nice to have.
  • That's way cool! Wonder how it affects the operation of the pedal?

I have also seen a spacer that raises the toilet up to a more normal height.
I don't remember who had it.
I will be searching for it soon myself.
    Possibly Camping World.
