TT leans when slide outs are extended

We are very happy with our TT but have noticed even on a perfectly level campsite that the trailer leans to the driver side when the slide outs are extended. There are two slides that come out from that side. Is this a problem that can be fixed or just an annoying issue that I should just accept?

Just seems like it's a flawed design. The only thing I've done to balance it out is to just stick some thin sheets of wood under the wheels on that side when we are first getting set up at a camping sit.

As far as I can tell when the slide outs are in the TT seems to be balanced. Thoughts?
  • Ours leans about an inch out of level (according to the levels we have mounted on the side of the trailer) if the slides (both on the driver's side) are extended before the stabilizers are extended. You can counteract this with one of several options. First, like you have already mentioned, you can run the driver's side wheels up onto leveling blocks so that the trailer leans about an inch toward the passenger side before deploying the slides, or, what we usually do if on a nice level surface, is to firmly extend the stabilizing jacks on the driver's side before putting the slides out. This works fine for us.

I like to pull the stabilizers up before bringing the slides back in to avoid any chance of "torqueing" the slides when retracting.
  • Are you putting your stabilizer jacks down before putting the slides out? the trailer will lean to the side with the slideout(s) because all that weight is now out past the wheels. the jacks will keep the trailer from dropping on that side.

Always level the trailer first. side-side, then front to back, put jacks down, then slides out!
