The few times I've been in a pinch and towed with my Sequoia, I've been surprised at how well it towed..in general and on the odd occasion when the trailer was bigger than the Sequoia should have been towing.
...so, if ratings are equal, a Tundra might be a better choice than a Silverado 1500: but as noted, the OP probably needs to look at a 2500
