"Need" is always a bit ambiguous. "Want", "convenient", "duty cycle" all come into play.
Whereas you may be good hauling a "big" trailer around town with your new Silvy and while it likely gets up to speed as needed when you hit the 405 for a few miles and would even get you over the passes, albeit slowly.
That's not something everyone can live with.
And back to the OP, he's already wringing out about as much value out of a tow rig as practical, to the chagrin of some of the weight police here, even.
And it's the 21st century. Just like none of us would really like to pull our campers with a 1970s truck with roll your own windows, a bench seat that feels like a piece of plywood with a throw pillow on it, with all 200 screaming horses puttin it down through a 3 speed trans, noone really want's to pull 9500lbs with a 300hp V6 either. Especially if it involves racking up some real windshield miles.
