Turning your truck like a skid steer

Nor will you be mowing with your GMC. What is the purported advantage?

I had old Chevy wagon, parked street on hill. Snow would melt, run under cars and freeze. Whole line of cars stuck. I put hole in floor, hooked a cable to park brake cable. RR start to spin, pull the cable, that wheel would slide on ice as I pulled away.
Ag tractors have used brakes for steering forever. About 9YO, mowing with the John Deere. Get to corner, stomp right pedal. When pointed they way you want to go, lift right kick left lightly. Keep hands away from wheel when turning.
But that is not the max way a skid steer turns.

I recall when I had the first vehicle (that I had) that had an electronic readout for the temperature..."why would I need that"....now it's very nice to have.

Similarly, recall paying extra (on one of my new vehicles) for heated seats: who needs that, just let the car warm up....now it's very nice to have.

Finally, rear view camera: "who needs that, that's what mirrors are for"....now I've become lazy enough that I really like the rear view camera.

So all these things that were "why do that" are now Very Nice to Have's....

Somehow I don't see the tank turn / skid steer feature ever getting to the point of enough utility that it's nice to have.

Cool gimmick for the poseurs, not much more than that.

Had this on my Dune Buggy built from an old VW bug back in 1968-9. Corvair six and gear box. Built engine from a Spyder with loooong induction runners...IIRC about 18's long each and I added velocity stacks from JC Whitney that must have increased it another 4 inches or so

VW Bug's have a handle parking brake on the tunnel. Juck yard a 2nd handle and hardware. Cut the cable loop at the handle and weld in the other handle on the other side of the tunnel.

Mostly going up sand dunes...really tall sand dunes and then run down in almost the same tracks you went up

Scary the first couple of times AFTER buddy showed me...as copied his setup and too chicken to do so on my own the first couple times

Looks like a good way to break things. Picture this ... you are pivoting around and the front wheel lodges against a large rock mostly hidden below the surface. Results? Blown tire, bent rim, alignment gone and or any number of suspension parts bent or broken.
Your wallet will feel like a hurricane hit it.

Why? In 60 years of driving I have never needed to "hurricane" turn. Why now, what is the purpose?
I operated P-7 Amtrak in the Marines. We also had "Pivot" never used it.

I see that the $100K+ Yukon Denali is not far from coming to fruition.

I've owned 2 Yukon's, one that I ran up over 150K miles in 3 years, and can honestly say I never had the need to sit and spin lol.
