Assuming there is about 10 superchargers per station, that makes 1,400 stations?
Dare to compare it to 121.000 of gas stations? I still see signs "120 miles to next gas" on my travels, so shall I expect "1400 miles to next Tesla charger"?
I am just hobbyist here, but IMHO Rivians and Ford promote their electrics for what they really are >>> local grocery getters recharged at home garage. From what I read we do have tens of plug-in cars on US roads. Some of them 100% electrics, some plug-in hybrids like Porsche for example. You don't need Porsche charging stations, do you?
I actually like Porsche concept the most. 60 miles range on batteries = good for daily commute and grocery getting, but when you want to go for a weekend, or vacations, you fire gasoline engine.

Biggest current issue for towing electric is most chargers are for backing in. Without a way to pull along side the charger, it would be an annoying adventure. I bet if Ford releases an electric truck with any towing capability, you will see a big increase in pull through charging stations.

Yes it would take a brave soul with an adventurous spirit to tow or haul something big cross country or to a remote area with an EV right now.

...and with a little creativity, one could perhaps do it.

Reality is most trucks never carry a camper or tow anything significant.

If an EV truck can run on clean energy they could cover at least half the truck market. Imagine getting 60 to 80+ MPGe in a full size truck to pick up the kids, groceries, or a run to Home Depot.

I traded-in my 2006 F350 dually in January of 2017.
They gave me $4200 for it. No corrosion, the 6l Powerstroke run very well for what it was.

I don't want an electric car or truck.

There is a lot of new auto tech that starts in the upper price range. Given time, electrics (or whatever they evolve into) will be more affordable. Range will go up, charging time will go down. Will Tesla be the brand that dominates the market? I would be surprised. Any major manufacturer could change focus and dominate.

I don't own an electric, I am just hopeful they evolve and replace fossil fuels.

Tesla cars on the road are for about 15 years now and even they appeal to environmental freaks and to some degree made symbol status - considering the price I don't see them making the future.
Electric Smarts and electric Fiats seem to vanish from the roads.
The casino, that I frequent for buffet, has free charging station, but maybe 1 time of 20 visit a car is there.

Not only new battery cost $7,000, but replacement battery comes with 1 year warranty.
The SUV was a hair away from ending on junk yard, even it still looks great.
Funny part, I have seen only 1 Tesla in Alaska.
Stop at nice glacier - the tourist instead of admiring the glacier would gather around Tesla - watching it like white elephant.
