I love in a rural community in Tennessee and when it snows our roads can look like that. Funny thing is that I usually go on into the office which is about 35 miles from home.... People that live 2 miles from the office will call in due to snow and I am like... Ok...!????
Snow is ok on the roads. I would and could pull in those conditions. If it's ICE then the game changes a bit. Chains are needed. Etc.
Great pics sir!

I believe the question is what are you towing with your F-150 5.4L not what or where you are not.mark5w wrote:
Check out my signature. Added Roadmaster Active Suspension. Will be adding EBC Green Stuff or the new Orange Stuff brake pads and rotors.

Not the weight police, I tow over GVWR also, but all of my pictures with my 5er hitched up are with the LANDING GEAR UP, the pin is actually on the truck, stock suspension no add on's.
I will say it isn't only F150's 1500's, but 250's/2500's and 350's and 3500's. If you really need those enhancements maybe you are a bit too much over the safe towing capacity of our TV, even if you are within all the numbers!!!
Many state "I took it out on the interstate and it did ok, I will just take it easy and go a little slower!! This apples to all TV's.
Ask yourself this, would you feel safe and comfortable driving this road at 55 to 60 mph?? This is a main state highway from Portland, OR to the coast. It is one of the main routes from Portland to one of the largest campgrounds in the US with over 500 sites. Many log trucks and 53' semis run it also.

Yep sure would take a half ton up that. If that campground is 500 sites I betcha that half tons do it every day the weather permits. Looks like a scenic drive for sure. The hardest drive I ever had was about 25 miles of two lane interstate construction with signs saying for trucks over two axles to stay in the right hand lane. On the right side of the right lane was concrete barriers sat right on the line! Plus traffic was nuts! The truck and trailer did fine, this operator was just hyper aware to say the least!
Thanks for sharing the pics!
Is this weather permitting?? This is the same road just about three years ago coming home. Pulling our old 5er. - jerem0621Explorer II

Thanks for sharing the pics! - DwnSthExplorerWhat's in my sig. Looking for larger TT, something RL or RE around 30 ft. Don't even feel the small aerolite back there. Tows great. Can't wait to get behind the wheel in a few weeks for our next trip.

It will take another generation for that to happen. Too ingrained in the 'old' folks vernacular, and we all know how much they like change!
They really need to do away with the antiquated 1/2, 3/4, 1T ratings!!
When I tell people my truck is an MDT, I get the blank stare. It's much easier to say it's a "5 ton." - rhagfoExplorer III

More information about your F-150 or what F-150 model/vintage/equipment you are interesting in towing would be helpful.
I towed my TT (about 6500-7000 pounds loaded) with a 2003 F-150 for 2 years. It was great! I'd love a newer 6-spd dropped into that truck. Wife wanted 3-rows for its replacement. - dadmomhExplorerI know I'll be sorry for asking this, but.....what is the problem with the F-150's?? I realize some folks wouldn't consider driving anything but a _____, but have never read anything that would make me think the F-150 is not a good, sturdy truck. We've had 2 - first one was just daily driver for DH - and then the '03 with zero problems. Please no food fight. Be nice.
- jaycocreekExplorer III don't pay much attention to manufacturer ratings... Point.... My 2008 Ford f-150 has a Max tow rating of 9200 lbs yet Ford equipped it with car tire rated tires which quickly were replaced with proper tires for heavy loads.
We live and learn through experiences learned or passed down, not off the net or some salesman who probably hasn't pulled anything ten feet let alone over hill and dale in snow and high winds.
