What does 11,000 lbs of towing capacity mean?

That 'new' thread has most everyone advising the same stuff on this thread. So
this OP still isn't getting what they want to hear...maybe another new thread
might get this OP what they want to hear

The one this OP started on bling wheels convinced me that this OP is looking
for confirmation of what they want to hear...and proof a fashion statement crowd member

IMO, most who just look for confirmation really deep down know the
answer to their question...but in denial and wanting confirmation to
make them feel better

A few came close, many missed it entirely. If five pages of "Experts" cannot answer the question in a simple paragraph, it is no wonder that regular people purchase the wrong tow vehicles.

Every towing guide from Ford that I've seen reads like this. Now at one time conventional vs 5th wheel was a bit different.

With the Ford F-250 trucks there is little difference with conventional towing but with a 5th wheel trailer the 4.30 gears up the towing capacity with the gas 6.2L engine to 15,800 lbs. from 12,800 lbs. with the 3.73 gears on the same truck.

You are looking at the wrong engine for those tow numbers...

As for the OP ... Yes that particular 5er is way to to much for any 1/2 ton and even some 3/4 tons.

This thread was talking about a particularly large fiver. Any 2K plus pin weight is going to put tremendous stress on the semi float rear axle of the HD. Again, you may be OK with this, but not me.

I'm not talking about what you or I are "comfortable" with. The truck is rated to carry that pin weigh, and I won't pretend to know better than those that built it and carry the warranty on it.
And you can get a well optioned reg cab with 3000# payload, not that I'd buy one either, but you stated it wasn't doable, now your saying that it is not desirable to you, there's a difference.
Our fleet runs 150HD's now instead of 250s to no ill effect. Better mileage, cheaper, nicer to drive, and so far, no added service issues. They save hundreds of thousands across NA with these, they are a good alternative financially, maybe no so much for the ego.....
