What RV Travelers clubs are the best for discounts?

I have been on the road for 21 days with my first RV pull behind. I have so many questions, I'm not sure where to start. I have a 2010 Dodge Ram Laramie 5.7 liter Hemi 1500 and am towing a 2008 Forest River Surveyor 303. The trailer weights 6500 before my gear and I am guessing it is around 7500 loaded. I am not sure what the stabilizer sway bars are, but I am pleased so far with how it has been handling. I generally stay around 60mph, but have pushed to 65 on occasion with no issues, even on winding hills and when tractor trailers are passing me.

  • Passport America isn't very good. Never a campground where I go except Chandler OK which is cheap enough anyway. Good Sam is fine.
  • Passport America ,Good Sam, KOA are the main I use. Many parks offer military discounts, disabled, senior, etc. Ask when you checkin.
  • I am confused what your post has to do with the title so I will answer the title. The best deal is senior citizen discounts especially the America the Beautiful Senior Pass;

    Many states also have senior discounts.

    For commercial parks it is probably Passport for the best deal.

    Also Good Sam has discounts as a benefit of membership.
  • We recently signed up for the KOA card, having used a few over the past couple of months and being very pleased with the KOA campgrounds we think it will be very useful. The campground and bathrooms are always clean and tidy. Good service too.

    You ask about sway bars - you may not have had a problem yet but if you don't have some sort of anti sway or preferably straightline camlock hitch, then you could have problems. We have a Reese Straightline Dual camlock hitch on our 24'trailer and have had NO problems whatsoever when traveling - no problems with very windy days, big tractor trailer trucks, etc. It means a lot to me to have peace of mind - I don't want to cause an accident where we or others could be injured or possibly killed.
  • Welcome to RV.net and the world of RVing!
    Passport America is about the best. Many of the parks have restrictions especially on long weekends.
    Next is Good Sam parks with 10 per cent off.
    Depending on your age, America The beuticful senior pass is on top of them all. Many federal campgrounds have great sites. Many Corp of Engineers(COE) have hookups. Some have dump stations while others have sewer connections. In the es, you TVA which has great facilities inmany locations.
  • We are not full-timers so we find that AAA or Good Sam works to get a bit off. Otherwise while traveling we use Harvest Hosts, State Parks and private campgrounds that are nice and reasonably priced.
  • Passport America....50% nightly rate when you can use it

    Other than that I just ask at checkin......any discount I can get.
    Sometimes YES.....sometimes NO
